This event can fulfill the Arrow of Light Adventure: Building a Better World requirement 10d. Under the supervision of your parent, guardian or den leader, connect with a Scout in another country during an event such as Jamboree on the Air or Jamboree on the Internet or by other means.
This is a free event but please register as space is limited.

Commissioner's Communication
Introducing the New Member Coordinator Position
Sustaining strong membership, in a unit, depends not only on having new members join the unit, but also on engaging youth and their families in the unit experiences so they feel welcomed and want to stay. The role of the New Member Coordinator is to ensure that both keys to success take place. The Welcome Training Video on my.scouting.org is sufficient for the volunteer in this position to get started. Additional detailed training on Sharing the Benefits, Coordinating Recruitment, and the Joining and Welcoming Process, will be available soon.

MID-IOWA SCOUT SHOP NEWS
A note from the Scout shop:
Dear Unit Leaders,
I would help new families if they had all the information before they visit the Scout shop, such as the pack/troop number, the den number (if needed), what the pack/troop provides; neckerchief, slide, handbook, custom unit number patch, etc...
Our staff is happy to show them all of the things they will need to get the most out of their Scouting experience without overwhelming them.
A simple list of what is provided by the pack or troop with the unit number printed on it would eliminate some of the confusion that goes with being new to the program.
Thank you,
The Scout Shop Staff
