The Governor's Luncheon for Scouting is the only event of its size and scope in the country, where Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts work with the Governor to support programs for our future leaders. Hundreds of business and civic leaders, along with Governor Terry E. Branstad and Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds, are expected to attend and help financially support these organizations. The goal for this year's Governor's Luncheon for Scouting is to raise $200,000 for youth leadership development.

The scheduled 2017 Mitigwa Scout Reservation Leaders Meeting (including Akela) at Maytag Scout Center will be an online presentation ONLY.
The presentation will be online by January 21, 2017.
2017 Wood Badge Course
If you have been looking for a way to take your adult leadership skills to the next level, this is it! This is not outdoor skills training, this is developing your personal skills of group leadership. The Wood Badge course is only offered every two years and the training team is dedicated to providing you with the highest quality BSA training and personal growth experiences, using Mitigwa Scout Reservation as our base. Updates on Cub Scout and Boy Scout advancement
The requirements for all Cub Scout ranks have been modified to make the program more flexible, and many detail changes have been made. A complete listing of the changes is available for download by clicking here.
As of January 1, 2017, all Boy Scout rank advancement must be based on the 2016 requirements, as published in the current Boy Scout Requirements book. The transition that allowed the previous requirements to be used during 2016 has ended.
